| So my scorpion kept digging for the past 2 weeks. I got a 20 gal tank. He started in the middle of a side wall and got around to the middle of the back wall along the glass and then decided to dig towards the middle. While at depths of over 6" he dug under a rock which resulted in a cave in.
When I got home I freaked out, took out all the hides/rocks and started trying to find him. After a while of digging I saw two pincers poking out. He was very angry.
Had to take him out and re-arrange the tank. Now all of his hard work is destroyed. He seems stressed and upset. Hope he gets over it... |

| duh, dont leave a rock or tank decoration that it could undermine and crush itself, they do burrow, and burrow 'under' things. make all rocks, hides, decorations anchored- so they wont shift if the scorp digs under it.
in my P. imperator tank i put 2 shot glasses under the log i use for a hide, put dirt to the top of the shot glasses then put the log on top of them, they now post up under it with no worry of it falling on them |

damn that sounds awesome! how much substrait do you use? Also Gnat had a great idea, my guy never burrows that much but then again I have only owned him for a month or so. |

| if thats ina 10 gallon tank...that should be more than enough...
edit: sorry saw its a 20 gallon...even than it should be alright...
as long as theres atleast 4 -6 inches of substrate |

| thats when theyre happiest....
my adults wouldnt burrow so i kinda made a burrow off in a cave that i created for them...and one of my females is constantly in it... |
