I currently keep mine on a mix of jungle mix, coco fiber, and a little bit of sand. I'm not sure if it's the best mixture to use, but I couldn't find any info on them ... |

| Tabor, I think for most Bothriurids you keep them dry, and quite cool (late 60's, early 70's). a member on here had some urophonius granulatus and they died because them temp rose above that. they seem to be quite sensitive to heat and humidity. |

| Sweet collection, Kuma. Call me old-fashioned, but for some reason your emps seem the coolest to me right now. Although, that H. madraspatensis is pretty awesome too. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blog Be nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will."

| Kuma, are you sure that's is a spinifer you got there, cos the pic shows a black telson and the carapace looks a little bit different. I'm no expert but I have a colony of H. spinifers and they look a little different from yours.... |

| well like I said, I don't claim to be an expert but H. spinifers usually have a brownish red telson when mature. This telson is often creamy white in in young or sub-adults....
If your's is black (unless is a result of the camera), then you might have petersi, or laoticus. In your case its more likely to be pertersi as laoticus tend to have more bulbouse chela. Or in affect that its been a while since I've looked at an adult longimanus.
I could be wrong, forgive me if I am |
